WHY DURABILITY?
Durable refers to a product's ability to last a long time without needing replacement, thereby reducing the frequency of resource extraction, manufacturing, and disposal processes associated with its lifecycle. Durable products tend to have a lesser ecological footprint over time, as their extended lifespan means fewer raw materials are mined, less energy is consumed in production, and less waste is generated from disposal. In essence, a durable product, from an ecological perspective, is one that reduces the strain on environmental resources and systems due to its prolonged usability.
